Re: Carleen's Countdown to 2020...

Because of a certain person, I will no longer continue to frequent this forum. She has made me very uncomfortable by trying to locate where I live, assuming certain things regarding our medical coverage, etc. I feel stalked. I will miss several people here, especially DG and leaving here is my loss.

Re: Venturing out on my own

Maggie: YAY for you!!! When Hubby was working, he'd be away for days and weeks at a time. I retired several years ago and I was left to fend for myself. So, I ventured out by myself and it became my "other life". When he was home, I'd cook and basically became the Wifey. But when he was aw...

Re: DG's frugal journal

Hello, DG We, too, have been thinking about solar power. BUT, this area of Northern Illinois gets only a smidge less than 49% of measurable sunshine days. Our winters are notorious for grey, over-cast days. So the question remains as to whether the solar system would be worth its while. This needs m...

Re: Eyeglass cleaner

Here's something I read somewhere:

For those of you who have plastic lenses, do not use Windex (or other similar stuff) that has ammonia in it. Ammonia will cloud them.
