I jot down every expenditure in one of my 3 "2020 notebooks" - from the mortgage payment to the coffee I just bought at the library. Everything goes into a category - mortgage payment under "housing", the coffee under "entertainment" (that's where I go nutty - is that "food" or "entertainment" - ugh...
