Re: Daily Check In December 20, 2017

Good morning. It is chilly around 30 but going up in to the 50's.Unusual for this time of year. Suppose to get colder and maybe even some light snow showers tomorrow. Doggie nephew is much better and now eating and not throwing up. Last night he was able to swallow his oral antibiotic hidden in a b...

Re: No Spending for a Year?

I was thinking that a good way to start would be to inventory what I have on hand. Then I realized I am not even close to being that organized. So, I'm winging it. I have food in the pantry and freezer, enough clothing, some yarn and thread for crafting, DH is up to date on his meds, more than 3/4 o...

Re: No Spending for a Year?

Hi Alliesmama, I'm with you. I had 4 "unusuals" this year. Including the last minute New furnace. Those have already been spent, but need to be paid for next year and beyond, so your plan and everyone's ideas will help.

Staying home again this weekend which saves me gas money and gives me time to do some food for the week. I am taking 3 days off t...

Re: SS for 2018, have your recieved your notice yet?

I haven't received anything yet. Since it appears we need to have a new furnace this week, every penny will help. Of course it had to decide to give up just as the temperatures have dropped. That's life. DH usually keeps track of the social security and he hasn't said anything yet.

Re: Daily Check in Dec 4, 2017

Good evening. Having to buy gas is not very frugal and I picked the easiest, not the cheapest station today, so 2.49 per gallon, $36. I used to buy gas, at the cheapest station which I luckily passed on my way to work, a 10-15 minute trip door to desk. Now it's 45 minutes to an hour on the road and ...
