I'd guess my garden is about 20 by 40 maybe. I'm going to expand it with a couple more raised beds this fall. I also plant in rotation to get the most out of the space. Of course I sometimes wonder if an expansion is going to be wise as DS will leave for college and DD a couple years later. Both kids assure me that they will still want to shop from moms pantry rather than buy canned at the grocery. Lol. Sounds good in theory. I do the work and they continue to eat!

The jalapeños are really producing so I will probably freeze some for later. The eggplant is about done so I will pull it soon. I need to let the peppers and what not finish up but DH is in a hurry to till and add compost lol. I think he wants projects to keep him and FIL busy.

Wow, Shel, you get a lot out of your garden.

Can you give me some advice about freezing hot chilli peppers. We have ended up with masses the plants keep on producing and I've no idea what to do with them. Thanks.

We enjoyed our garden.

We got broad beans, runner beans, some courgettes but not as many as I wanted by any means, onions, potatoes and garlic.

Masses and masses of toms......we had the greenhouse full and I had them planted outside with cherry toms in hanging baskets also. Everyone produced madly and it was good to have so many different varieties and tastes. I particularly like the yellow cherry toms.

We had coriander, thyme, mint, parsley, 2 types of sage and rosemary and basil ( the basil is very tender and we had to raise it up in the greenhouse ) Very pleased with the herbs this year.

Fruit wise we had rhubarb, apples and lots and lots of strawberries.

We planted other fruit bushes but knew we wouldn't get fruit this year. We have a lot frozen and dehydrated put away. Very pleased with the garden this first year.

Not shell, but these might give you some ideas for all those peppers:

I have two more hot-pepper related recipes that I'll be sharing later this week.

Today's harvest: 3 pumpkins totaling 8 lbs. One needs to be cooked ASAP I think.
1/2 lb pole beans - I was surprised since they took forever to do anything. I cut down the bush beans at ground level leaving the roots in the soil.
1/2 lb cherry tomatoes as usual
1 bell pepper.
Yesterday got a zucchini, baby eggplant and cherry tomatoes.
More yellow squash and a baby zucchini on the way. I found bunny poo under the squash plants, apparently that was a hiding place. :o Oh well - fertilizer now.
