Well I cut the shopping by 1/2 hour. Hopefully can manage to cut a bit more time in 2 weeks.

No empty shelves as of yet, but who knows what will happen. Each time I go I plan on picking up a few extra things for the pantry.

I took about the same time as the last (perhaps a bit longer as I saw a friend that I had not seen in a very long time).

Things seem to be working out well with this kind of shopping. I know I certainly feel much safer only going twice a month and combining more errands into the one day.

I think it might have helped my budget as well, but we will see what November brings before I really believe that.

Now through my own fault I have run out of onions (really), and I probably should have bought another dozen or so eggs if I wish to start baking for Christmas. However, just like with how much milk to purchase there is a learning curve to this and I am slowly but surely getting better at planning and purchasing enough.

Over the last week we have had a jump in active Covid cases of close to 40. In fact yesterday we were just behind the capital city youngest DS lives in a place that has 4X our subsection has.

Well another two week shopping challenge under my belt.

Wow have prices risen yet again. Hubby is shocked every time he looks at the grocery fliers. Even if I go over budget a bit, I am saving on fuel on my vehicle and with the costs of that, well it could actually offset the slight increase in grocery.

Still even after saying that I am hopeful that I will still be under budget this month. I will know for sure on Tuesday... I like surprises.

I was under budget again for this past month, but I am not sure about this month. Meals for when the DS's are home are larger and there never seems to be much leftover for another meal. Eldest likes leftovers for lunches so there is that.

I kind of broke the 2 week shopping thing yesterday. Ground meat was on sale at a really great price. To make sure I did not buy anything else I walked to the grocery, did not grab a cart, and went to the meat department. I got two large packages of meat and once home I divided it into 8 1lb packages and put them in the freezer.

I am pretty proud of myself only getting what I wanted (actually needed as well) and getting out of the store with nothing extra.

Milk supply is dwindling, so I just may be going shopping for that at the end of the month once the DS's leave. I had a feeling I should have bought more. I may look at the sale fliers to see if there is canned creamed soup on sale as I really need to stock up on those. If not there is always the big beginning of the year shop and I will just stick with milk.
