April Use It Up/Recycle Challenge

Post by Jackielou »

This challenge keeps me mindful of what is in my fridge and pantry that need to be used up. It also focuses me on using up items that have been around the house for awhile, and on using up my yarn and fabric stashes.

Anyone else care to join in once again?

First day of the month and I am already using things up.

Used up the remainder of the ham and scalloped potato casserole at supper.

Used up the remaining Brussel sprouts and an onion making roasted veggies for supper.

Used up a container of yogurt for breakfast.

I used a carton of eggs. I boiled them to make deviled eggs for quick snacks and egg salad for lunch. They were only .65 cents a dozen at Aldi's.. Seems like not too long ago we were spending a whole lot more on eggs. Glad the crisis is over..Finished a container of cottage cheese.Janet Alliesmama

Used up a bag of chopped onions and a small container of tomato paste (both from the freezer.)
Also DH pulled the bags of chicken bones from the freezer and made a pot of broth... I need to go rescue the celery that's getting past its prime. A good cold water bath should perk it up.

Used up the remaining pork from the roast (that was not packaged and frozen) as sandwiches for Hubby at lunch.

Leftover roast beef, an onion, and a can of mushrooms were used up to make our supper tonight.

Used up another ball of cotton yarn.
