Hi all,

Jackie, have fun at your reunion.

Quilter, sorry for your loss.

Florida, take it slow and get the rest you need.

Don't know where the day has gone already. Despite being up at 5A this morning, for some reason I feel so very far behind. I know I've done a lot but it doesn't quite feel as if I have done enough for the time that I have been up.

Today is a come what may kind of day . . . no pressure.

Dinner tonight is either a turkey burger with veggies, or pizza with a side of green beans.

Almost caught up with the first 14 seasons of Heartland. I have 2 more episodes left. I won't be able to see the 15th season as it is now being featured on Up TV and my cable service has dropped their service in my program level.

Well guess that's all for now. Have a great day.

Hello all,

I am going to try to get back into what was my life.
Quilter, I am just so sorry about what has happened in your family. It sounds like a tragedy and so many unanswered questions, I am so sorry.

FloridaCat, please take it easy and I hope you have a quick recovery.

I had the littles today and I am so glad I did, as it started out thinking about the fiance. I know these times will come and go , just so glad they were here to take my mind off of it.

I have been cherry-picking the grocery ads, one of our bigger stores had 10# bags of chicken legs and thighs for 5.90 per bag....59cents per pound. Limit 4 so of course I got 4 and they are packaged and frozen, I only got 1 the first trip to the store because they had run out. I have barbequed them over the open fire at the camper...so good and plenty for everyone. I got the rest thru instacart , along with on sale hot dogs, buns and ground beef. I only instacart on sale items from this store because everything else is pricey.

Everyone in the family has a 3 day weekend so a cook out and some 4th of July decor is on for the weekend.
We could possibly get some rain at different times this weekend, we need rain so will just work around it.
the wind has started, thank goodness the laundry is dried.
Have a good day all,
JCKitty

I am feeling some better and have organized and wiped down the frige inside and out. Taking a coffee break. It is brutally hot outside so I plan on taking Hope for a walk later, between 8 and 9 p.m. Recently, Lucy won't walk without one of the other dogs and I can't take 2 dogs by myself - so she can come with just me or miss out.

Quilter, I am so sorry. What a dreadful tragedy. (((Hugs)))

FloridaCat, it's great that you had such a good visit with your doctor.

JCKitty, thank goodness for the little ones. (((Hugs)))

DH and I have had a day of doing chores together. I went to Save-a-Lot and Dollar Tree to buy items on the list for the church food pantry. Wound up spending more than I meant to, but I can't bear the thought of people and their pets going hungry. Stopped at the Walmart gas station on the way home and spent $16 putting 1/3 of a tank of gas in my car. Bicycling is starting to look like a good idea!

When DH came home from the hardware store, we went to Aldi, which he said had been reconfigured. It needed it: the remodeling a few years ago left it so dark and crowded that I hated going there. The improvement was huge and we found almost everything on the grocery list. We spent only $84 on food, and $4 and some change on a 14 pound jug of cat litter.

After we put up the groceries, we went out to lunch. I had a piece of fish and sweet potato fries and could eat only half of it, so the rest will be lunch tomorrow. For dessert, he and I split one of Aldi's version of a KIND bar, except it was far more delicious than a KIND bar.

Back home again and I hopped up the road to the new Food City supermarket to buy the cereal we could not get at Aldi. But the store did not have it (Kashi Go Lean). I checked a few prices and was horrified. Wound up buying only a bag of cat treats and a little bag of cat toys.

It turns out that type of Kashi cereal is a bit hard to find in stores, so I wound up having to order it online. It was cheaper that way as well, so that's good.

I plan to be fairly lazy the rest of the day. Tomorrow we will take the provisions to the food bank donation bins and do Saturday chores. We'll celebrate the 4th early with burgers, fries and fruit salad tomorrow night, as Aldi had a great price on pre-made patties.

I received very sad news last night. My husband's (much younger) sister ahs multiple health problems (got a heart pacemaker in her late forties and so on, skinny as a rail, balance issues). She and her veteran husband had moved to a small town in Oklahoma a while back after living near a large base in Texas-a town with asically nothing including no hospital so we were all very concenred. Anyway, last night her house burned down and she could not be recessitated. It seems she and her husband had problems andhe had moved to a hotel shortly after their arriving and was planning to come down here and live with her sister, so he was not htere. It was an older house, she smokes (outside far as I know), has a gas stove and so on, but this is shocking although we all knew how poor her health was and that this could happen at any time. Johns other sister and brother drove up last night and we are waiting to hear more results.

Meanhwile in other news, skipped the pool to do my budget. Will be tightening up during july in order to get past some late rent fee issues and banking fees-I have the money I am not managing well so I am trying to pay things a bit in advance as much as possible starting with rent so I can eliminate losing so much money in fees. The good news was that my food alone was four hundred dollars and i can live with that. Also I know I will be taking a train trip in the fall so I need a seperate savings fund for that and hobbies. Onward and forward as they say.

We have a fourth of july thing at one today with hot dogs and all the cool stuff here in the resident village. Other than that my only plans for the day are to clean out the car a bit to make room for son's stuff tomorrow since I have been accepting any and all free stuff for me or the homeless and it looks like the cars in the grapes of wrath. I will aslo knit or sew perhaps.

Quilter, I am so very sorry, that is such a tragic loss.
I do have a new bathing suit and a sun hat coming so that I can work out in comfort the rest of the summer.
