Good morning fellow frugalites,

It is warming out. Right now it is -22C (-8F) and with the wind feels like -32C (-26F). Slowly but surely the low is passing. I believe we have one more day of extremely cold weather and then we will be warming up to seasonal or just below.

I am keeping an eye on the weather for our trip to the city to see my cancer specialist and our youngest son. I will also be keeping an eye online to see what if any home/apartments/condo's are available and what the costs are. I do have a feeling that real estate prices are going to fall. We do not want a fixer-upper though. Getting too old for that and if we move we may be helping DS with small fix-it jobs at his place. Many of his tasks are just too big for one person to handle on their own.

This morning I head out shopping. I have quite the list going. I plan on hitting the bank first, phoning from the Walmart parking lot re Hubby's prescriptions, hitting our grocery store, and lastly picking up prescriptions. Considering the uptick in Covid cases I will be wearing a mask. May get some weird looks, but better safe than sorry. Hopefully this will only take about 2 hours. I don't think that I could stand to be any longer (going to try and cut it down as much as possible, no stopping to chat for extended lengths of time).

Household tasks for today are shopping, banking, watering plants, dusting, putting away the clean dishes, phoning re scripts, picking up prescriptions, and I need to check the bread to see if any needs baking. When picking up the prescription I may drop by the Dollar store that is close to it and check out their cleaning supplies for cost (been awhile since I was in it).

I do plan on getting a few of those tasks done before I leave the house and the remainder done after I have scanned all the groceries and cleaning products. I have a feeling my friend will be phoning at some point today about getting together for coffee.

This afternoon I am going to cut out the draught dodger and the face warmer and get started on those. I hope to have them both done very quickly. I will phone my friend once the face warmer is done and make time to go and visit.

I will also spend some time knitting and watching some of the shows I recorded on the box. Why do they put all the things I love watching on the same night????? I now have about 5 hours of recorded television from one night. Yikes.

Supper tonight is going to be probably Beef Stroganoff made from some leftover roast beef. Making enough so that we can have leftovers on Saturday. Still cooking out of the fridge freezer most days, and getting rid of leftovers as quickly as possible.

Today I am grateful that the weather is warming and it actually looks not too bad on the long range forecast (that could easily change however).

Everybody have a great day. Take care.

Hello all,

Jackie, I mask up when I go out, I don't see many others with masks but oh well.

I was up at a decent time after sleeping pretty good. Not having car issues in the back of my mind probably helped.
I have fed and taken care of chickens and have had coffee so far this morning. I have things to do but I will get to them when I get to them!
It is still bitterly cold, but the sun is shining.
I will run the robo-vac and some kitchen work, visit the DD's and get the soda cans I need and then whatever happens for the rest of the day.
I have enough roast, potatoes and carrots for supper tonight. Might thaw some tenderloins for tomorrow. Plenty of salad and veggies. I will have to pick up a few things next errand day but not much.
I need to replace some lightbulbs in the garage. But I will wait for a much warmer day to do so.
Off to get started....maybe???? :?

Good morning all.

Woke up around my regular time this morning rested, but said to myself I wasn't getting up. Fell back to sleep and finally got up at around 7:00 . . . felt good.

While slightly behind on my exercise time I have gotten about 1/2 hour in. Since today is kitchen cleaning day, decided to move everything and wipe under it as well as reorganize the things I have sitting on top of my microwave. I also washed down the refrigerator and straightened up the stuff I have sitting on top as well.

I do have to run out again today but it will be for only about 20 minutes. The rest of the day will be spent on my usual leisure pursuits. Hasn't been much on prime time tv that isn't repeats every other week so I"m looking for alternative programming on my tablet. I have to connect my Roku streaming stick.

Dinner tonight will be chicken and veggies.

Well that's all for now. Have a great day.

Good morning.

On day 4 of not leaving the house literally. I realize for many of you northern types this weather may not be he type to keep you inside. but with almost an inch of ice on our walkways and roads, very little is moving. My daughter is going to work and finding it taking like four or five times as long and I am not even going out to my car, as I have mentioend, even though I would like to get the coke, water and other things in the car. We should hit above freezing tomorrow in theory, but we'll see how long it takes them to make the sidewalks walkable.

Today I will work on getting my weight bearing stips in throghout the day and do a chair aerobic and weight program. I have to thinka bout what I want to do housework wise if anything specific.

other than those two things I will work online for an hour and sew and knit. I am not too cabin feverish, but I acutally thought about going out and sitting on my patio in the 25 degrees (remember, we don't have heavy coats here) and rethank that although I suppose I could bundle up in qilts.

Not sure what else the day holds.

it is close to freezing in San Antonio, my apartment is warm. I have electricity. Some parts of the city have had power outages.

Breakfast was oatmeal with some chopped nuts, the ice cream nuts.

I have been pitching and adding to my giveaway bin. It is getting more difficult because I have already decluttered the easy items.
