Good morning,

Just a quick note before I head out to work. Had a quiet and pleasant day yesterday, low key just the way I like it. I have my menu plan set out for the week and got snacks and lunches packed for the day. Enjoying keeping the heat turned down and tolerating the colder weather. It is chilly and raining here, can't wait for Spring! I did eat some rather greasy onion rings yesterday that haven't set well with my tummy and I am paying for it this morning :( . I hope my squirrely tummy goes away soon or I am in for a long day at work. Anyway, off and running. Everyone take care and have a frugal day!

Good Morning all,

No subbing today, I put in for today and tomorrow off (tho I've since realized that kids don't have school tomorrow ). No school on Monday either.

Chores today:
**working on our taxes today.
**make banana bread/muffins for Sat morning's Knitting retreat brunch.
**complete some overdue school district video trainings.
**girls laundry & maybe dh's if finish girls.

Dd5 will go play at my friend's house today, I hope to use that time to go set up my cot & chair at knitting retreat, spend 20-30 minutes there, before coming home to work on taxes some more.

Not sure on dinner, perhaps baked chicken, salad, quinoa, and a veg.

It's cool & overcast here. We got our promised 30% of rain, and then some (it rained all night), High is predicted to be 43F (currently 29F).

I posted dd7's white metal platform bed frame on Fb yardsale yesterday, and I have a girl coming to get it today. I put it out for $100 OBO, she offered $75 -- I'm happy as I hoped to get $50. I think I'll start a Christmas fund, and will put that $75 in, plus the $5.33 check from ebates.com that come in yesterday's mail.

Am off to work on taxes (deductions today, ugh), and find a bit of breakfast. H-dog is snoring at my feet under computer desk.

Today I'm thankful for small money miracles. ;)

My daughter took me to see the oral surgeon this morning. He said I have done everything he wanted me to do and I am keeping the area clean. He did say that the slight discomfort I have when flossing is from the bone graft.

I have an appointment on March 12 to have the 6 year molar pulled. He looked at the X-Ray my regular dentist took and thinks there may be a crack in that tooth. But he can see the abscess.

My daughter will bring me and then take me back to her house. We were able to schedule this during her spring break. She also suggested I pick up some Boost. I will put that on my list.

I made some progress on the bag I am making last night. I need to zig zag all the edges, since i am not planning on lining the bag. Then I can sew it together.

Good morning all,

I have been up and trying to stay busy, to tell the truth....I am in an incredibly foul mood, the weather is horrible, grey, wet and not warm or cold. The news has me all over the map, I will be putting on my native American music and running my diffuser with "healing" scents.

I have very little ambition for dads supper tonight, it will get done but my heart is not in anything.
I did get over 2 gallons of maple sap, have one tap that is leaking around it and no idea how to deal with it...I am just a hobbyist, not a professional.

laundry done and hung to dry, need to work on floors and will be taking a nap.
Have a good day all, hug/love those close to you.

Dgflorida wrote: Thu Feb 15, 2018 8:10 am Good lovely Florida morning all,

Today if hubs feels up to it, we will buy him some new shoes. We went to the foot doctor yesterday. The doctor was good and they trimmed his toenails. Way more trimming than I would. I asked a lot of questions about foot care as well. Very informative. And they said his insurance would allow for regular trimming. But hubs may not feel like going out today. He threw up dinner last night. The culprit was the wine. It has been 4 months since he had wine and well, looks like the days of wine are over. On low carb, many people comment that they lose their ability to process alcohol. That is happening to us.

The foot doctor is ordering special inserts contoured to his feet to help hubs walk. The doctor confirmed diabetic neuropathy and loss of sensation. It was another reminder that diabetes is a silent destroyer. Not something to fool around with.

I have been eating beef to excess the last few days. I felt conflicted about eating so much, but the diet philosophy is that protein will not hang on and become fat. So far, it appears to be correct. I seem to have better energy. I was so tired before.

Well the leaves coming off the trees buried my irrigation line, so I pulled it out yesterday and will have to reposition it after the end of leaf fall. While I was tugging on it, the neighbor across the street invited me to walk up to the produce stand. I quick changed my shirt and away we walked. I didn't see anything I had to have, but it gave me a chance to see how she was doing. The girl moved out and apparently took some of her cats to the humane society. There are still several there that didn't want to be caught. The neighbor is without a car because her daughter is using it after her car was totaled. Exciting times in rural land.

We are told that a check from mil estate will arrive today. I am still sad and having conflicts about the money.

I have a $10 off coupon for the shoes and a new coupon for the garden shop. Also a gift card for BulkNation(had a coupon for one). Hubs says I am getting coupon fever. ;) Just lucky I guess.

Well, off to start the day. Have a good one everyone. Don't let the news destroy your day. Today, I am grateful for my husband's improving health.
As I have not read every day in the daily thread, what diet are you on that you eat so much red meat? Paleo? I need something that gives me energy too-I feel like the Energizer bunny is running out of juice and in slo-MO!

Jackielou wrote: Thu Feb 15, 2018 8:48 am Good morning fellow frugalites,

Slept not too badly last night so I am a happier camper this morning.

I will be phoning the specialists office in the big city to set up an appointment for the next time he is here as soon as possible this morning.

Not going to be a totally frugal day as it is shopping, bill paying and allowance getting day. We had wet snow yesterday and with the drop in temperature things are going to be icy. Hubby isn't afraid of driving on the ice, he is afraid of me walking on ice and ending up splattered on the ground. But life has to continue with all those little daily chores.

I will do what housework I can (not going to chance my healing by doing something stupid) and spend the rest of the time relaxing and gaining weight from doing nothing.

Supper tonight will ne leftover stew served on slices of bread (would much rather have dumplings but one handed dumpling making is beyond me at this point).

Today I am grateful the snow seems to have stopped.

Everybody have a great day. Take care.
Just take it easy, Jackie! I know it is hard when you are a person who is move, move, move and on the go all the time to be kind of sidelined! My dh had knee surgery a little bit ago and he is slower now and he is going even more stir-crazy now. He has never watched so much tv in his entire life combined I am sure! And Preston also fractured his wrist/hand and is in a cast too(from basketball) and I caught him sticking a chopstick bc he was itchy!!! They tell you do NOT do that! So I gave hin Benadryl which knocked him OUT-I got worried and kept checking all night to make sure he was breathing!!!

Hope you recover soon!
