Good morning fellow frugalites,

Today I head in for PT at the hospital, it is getting close to the end of this first session of trips. I hope she is still pleased at the progress being made. If I need more sessions the doctor has to okay it and send a note.

I want to get a few chores done before I walk out the door this morning. Starting laundry is the big one for today, as well as mopping the floor later in the afternoon when there is little chance of Hubby walking all over my nice clean floors.

Frugally speaking this will be another day of no spending. I am waiting for my telephone bill before I do bill payments this week and I don't plan on shopping until at least Thursday. I am really trying for those no spend days, those days where I really manage to use up what I already have, learn substitutions, and just plain be happy with what I am surrounded by.

Little extra chores I added to the list this morning are phone the bone doctor's office for an appointment next month, and phone for a hair cut as no one will cut my hair for me (even asked my friend if she would....the look on her face was priceless).

This afternoon after mopping and getting clothes off the line, I hope to do some more knitting. If I want to wear this wrap to the wedding reception on Saturday I need to move it right along.

This of course means no sewing until at least the end of the week, but now that my sewing room is tidy I should be able to start the projects I have ready to go on Monday.

Supper today will be ribs, which I will get out when I put the first load of laundry in. Not exactly sure how I will prepare them. I would really like sweet and sour served over rice, but it just might be too hot for that today. I could try and find a recipe for the InstantPot, but then I would be serving it over noodles and not rice. There is the last of the asparagus to use up as well so that will be a side.

Today I am grateful for telephones. They keep us in contact with family, and allow us the freedom to make appointments for doctors, dentists, with hairstylists and a myriad of others from our own homes instead of just taking the chance on an opening.

Everybody have a great day. Take care.

Good Morning friends,

I slept fitfully, and decided to stay awake after my last wakeful moment. Plus my neighbor is shouting at her dog (I sleep with my windows open to save a little $ on my electric bill), and there’s no sleeping through that sound, or through cars racing past to work.

Tomorrow is my sister’s birthday, she’d be 51 (I think) had she not died when I was a toddler; she was 9 and I was 21 months.

It’s going to be another warm day in the 90’s F, as they all have been for over a month. I’m hoping to get a head-start on laundry today as there’s plenty to do, but at least I now have more drying racks (I posted on facebook hoping to buy several for $5 each; I ended up with 4 though one was a complete dud that fell apart whenever I tried to move it).

I cannot believe how fast this summer has been racing by; my children start back to school in 34 days. ☹️

I started cutting out 5-12” squares, to make Ds15 a quilt, last week ; am planning to do 4-patch blocks. I also cut out 18” squares and sashing to make a quilt top for our upcoming family reunion in 10 days— I’ve really got to get preparing for that even this week, especially the Friday night meal I’m assigned to make (sloppy joes, salad, and???).

We’ve had a heavy moisture storm system lingering the past several days, and I’m still aching from all of the pressure; but bathrooms need cleaning, floors need vacuuming, and I’m hoping to get dds’ room carpet shampooed as well as dd7’s mattress.

However the children are all still asleep, so I’m going to read awhile — on CJ BOX’s Joe Pickett series, am on #2 Savage Run.

Not sure what meals will be this week, probably one at least from cooked chicken as I have 2 breasts needing used, but I have plenty of ingredients on hand.
I need to dig out my electric pressure cooker and practice using it prior to school starting, then I can swap back & forth between it and slow cooker for meals.

Happy Monday to you all. Today I’m thankful for hubby’s job, though it takes him away during the week.

Good Monday morning all,

Today is hubs visit to the eye specialist. I am hopeful that they will release him and there has been no change in his vision. Then he can go to get new glasses. He says he needs them badly.

Yesterday, I painted the front door. The weather was humid, but overcast for the most part meaning I could leave the door open for drying without setting off the ac. I still have a bit more fine work to do on it and touch up here and there.

Today, I intended to get the laundry started before my early morning walk. That didn't happen. I was running behind for some reason. Now I will wait until I get back from taking hubs to the doctor. Clothes dry on the line pretty well in a couple of hours here, so it should work out fine. With little chance of rain today, I hope to do some painting on other outside projects.

Hubs finished the monthly expense report and we discussed it. It looks like a pretty expensive year here. Well, it is as it is. Pay me now or pay me later on a lot of stuff.

I started using my cloth wipes and I am very happy with the decision. I am using old tee shirt material and such and it feels so good not to waste toilet paper.

While hubs is at the doctor's, I will run over to the store and buy a few things. It feels good to be productive that way.

Today, I am grateful for the simple life. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning. We had a storm come through again yesterday. Chance of another one sometime today. I hang things on clotheslines in the garage and have to park my car outside. I do not want to have to race around and get things off of the lines to get the car back in the garage so will postpone laundry until tomorrow.

Nothing exciting going on here. Will do some cooking ahead today making faux beef stroganoff using ground chuck, onion, fresh mushrooms and sour cream. I cut the stems of the mushrooms into a small dice and will saute them in butter and freeze for making cream of mushroom soup. Also plan on making blueberry muffins using almond and coconut flour.

Have a good and frugal day. Janet Alliesmama

Good morning everyone,

Off to the fracture clinic with dh right now. He'll be seeing a shoulder expert. Have packed bagged lunches as it's not unusual to have to wait two hours. Let's hope it's shorter than that, lol! Also packed some reading material.
