Good morning fellow frugalites,

I had a rough night sleeping and really do not feel like myself. Sniffling and feverish as well. I was going to attend a funeral today but if I still feel this bad by the afternoon I think I will be staying at home. Probably under a mound of blankets and drinking copious amounts of tea with lemon. Tonight I had planned on attending the World Day of Prayer service in our community, but that will have to wait until I see how I am feeling as well. Have I ever mentioned that I really dislike feeling ill?

Got the vehicle back late last night and I am sure happy that it is back in our driveway. Things are getting a bit more slippery as the city cleans roads off. It might be getting a bit more dangerous to walk any distance even with my walking poles.

March seems to be coming in like a lamb. While there is no blizzards or ice storms forecasted, we are all on the watch. This month is probably the worst when it comes to unexpected weather. Today however is nice (well nice as it can be). Right now it is only -18 C with the wind chill making it feel like -24 C. My temperature blanket will get a brand new colour (one that hasn't been used for awhile).

Budget wise last month was darn good. I was under budget in a number of line entries (groceries being one) and the total monthly budget was under by almost $700.00. This was probably because nothing was needed for the computer, we needed no new clothing (though Hubby definitely needs socks), and it was so cold we didn't order in or go out for a meal. Still not to shabby and I do hope this trend of being under budget continues for a bit longer.

Frugally today will be much the same as every day. However add baking bread to the list of frugal activities, and the using up of some of those mysterious cleaners under the kitchen and bathroom sinks. Still have not found that spark of interest in a new frugal idea as of yet. Some of the ideas I have read lean towards the "might work, but then again would I keep on doing said little thing...probably not" side. I am sure part of this is I am just tired and bored with what I do, do. Does that make any sense at all?

I hope to do some more work on my quilt today. Yesterday was more or less a bust as I kept waiting for a phone call from the dealership on my SUV. I didn't want to have to struggle out of layers of fabric to answer the phone, or get caught halfway through a stitch in order to do the same. Today (even if drinking loads of tea and lemon) I plan on getting more accomplished. I would really like to finish it this month.

The evening will be spent knitting on the cardigan I restarted. I am liking the drape and feel of this knitted fabric much better and am so glad I decided to redo the whole thing.

Supper tonight is going to be a good old fashioned salmon casserole. I will serve it with the leftover kale salad from last night.

Today I am grateful for the warm up in temperature no matter how short it is.

Everybody have a great day. Take care.

Good Morning,

Still working on getting corporate approval of my travel arrangements. The automatic routing for approvals seems to be not working well. Sigh.

The Doctor's office did not have the vaccination I went in for. but I am "at the top of the list" for when they get it in.

This morning I have laundry going. My work computer is running the monthly scans, so I am looking here.

Have a great day,
Maggie

So glad February is over. It has been short, grueling and expensive!

We are supposed to get more rain and cold here in Tennessee, but the early flowers are blooming: daffodils, purple thrift, and a few redbuds and quince. So those are a cheery sight.

Today I am going to lunch with an old work friend. Will be frugal as I have a card good for two free entrees. Need to go into work for a while to make some phone calls to candidates for a job opening. So I should get myself in gear here.

Good morning all

A grey semi foggy morning, but not as dark as yesterday. I don't mind these type of mornings. Sun is better, but not the heat

I had to take Benadryl last night so i slept well. Coming down with some sneezing and sniffles. Do not want to get sick. Too many sickies around me.

Will piddle around the house and tidy up

Way to go on the budget Jackielou. Interesting idea about coming up with a new fun budget buster.

Have a great day all

Good morning everyone,

Bright and sunny out today! Just makes you happy! And relatively mild for us at -16 C or 3.2 F. I am happy the extreme cold snap seems to be out of the way too Jackie!

I will be off for walking club soon and dh does an abbreviated weight workout at the same facility at the same time. I enjoy this time catching up with my retired teacher friends. Then in the afternoon I have my retirement explorers group. The focus was supposed to be on senior skin care but the guest cancelled at last minute. So we'll be doing board games instead. I will bring along my Taboo game.

No other major plans but will have the time and energy to catch up on some chores around the house.
