We drove up and were walking towards the building and saw him outside! Boy has he improved. From practically being in a coma to being able to walk around with a walker, and go to the facilities by himself.

We got him some fruit that he was craving and bought him new clothes. We are throwing out all the other stuff he has at home. He was a packrat.

Weirdly the man did not have to live like that. He could have afforded to have a brand new home etc, but for some reason wanted to just hang out and sort of trash our parents house. The pictures i could show you. That is why we are throwing everything out. He could have been on hoarders. Sort of like the COD. Is it the PTSD???

Well some other family is in town, so have to get showered and ready just in case.

Really glad i had the shower replaced last month. It gets used a lot now due to the heat.

Have a great day.
Clem glad to hear your brother is doing so much better. Hope he continues to improve.

I had fun at the play/musical yesterday. Great show, very inspiring and upbeat. Audience gave it a standing ovation. Thank you, Canada! Getting to the show was a bit stressful with traffic and an accident that required a detour and then we barely got a parking spot even with a prepaid ticket. But it all worked out.

Today I’ll stay home. I could hear a heavy rain overnight and it is overcast now. There is rain in the forecast for the next week.

In the business section of today’s paper there is a list of the 50 highest paid Florida CEOs. Number 50, the lowest paid, made $2.4 million. Number one made $22.6 million. Even I as a magazine business writer for many years was taken aback. American capitalism at its best or capitalism gone astray? I’ve always considered myself a moderate but socialism no longer sounds bad.

Have a good day.
Florida Cat glad you enjoyed your play. I would love to go to the theater more.. We do have a local theater group that is good but the tickets are out of my range for right now.. A friend of mine use to organize mystery train trips from St. Louis, MO to Chicago and the people from the Little Theater Group would play the characters.. It was fun.. They would go Friday and stay at a hotel Friday and Saturday and come home Sunday. He said they had to stop because so many of the same people would go on the trips and after a while they began to recognize who the players were and it got easier for them to figure things out. Enjoy your days and evenings out.. Glad that you are doing things like that.

Janet I would love to know what model of broom you got. I am moving in that direction. I am also looking for a long handled bathtub scrubber and considering buying an u right shampooed. The things we do when we cannot bend over, I tell ya.

Update

Got back from the Ministry Fair awhile ago. Managed to get the binding on the quilt ready to hand sew in place. I think I just might do that after supper.

Rinty I love making the prayer shawls. It actually feels like I am doing something rather than just attending meetings every month. I will continue with that ministry and add the making of scarves to tie to various areas for those that are cold this winter. I want to know that I am actually making a difference not just talking about it.

Ham is baking in the oven and now I need to start the scalloped potatoes in the microwave. Talk to you all later.

Thanks Florida Cat.. I like giving support to my friends.. Also I found out a long time ago positive is so much better to live with than negative. My poor mother was very negative which is sad.. She did have a horrible childhood but as an adult she had a much better life but still drug a lot of negative things around with her. I saw how stressed out she could get and I did not want to live like that.

My friend also organized train trips in vintage rail road cars that had been restored. His Dad worked for the railroad. Anyway two years in a road we went to New Orleans in a vintage car. Each time is was a different restored car.. Very interesting how they use to travel back when rail travel was the way to go. We were attached to the back of an Amtrak train. It was fun. We had our own private chef and some great meals. His wife was a nurse at the hospital where I worked. She developed sever rheumatoid arthritis that made it very difficult for her to travel by train so they stopped going on train trips. He use to also do yearly Amtrak trips for shopping and eating to maybe Chicago or Kansas City.. The good old days when I was able to get around. Glad I traveled so much when I was younger.
