Good Morning,

Last night I was invited down to DDIL's parents house for a gathering of friends and pizza form their wood-fired pizza oven. I got to see three of my favorite guys. Watching DGS2 trying to ask Alexa to play "The Incredibles" was funny. Alexa played "Trolls".

My homemade tomato soup came out well although I did pick up some fragments of tomato skin that were not fully blended.

Today DS1 is going to the Big10 football game with DS2. DS2 go the ticket for his Dad then his Dad backed out. I hope they do not get rained on too much.

Have a great day,
Maggie

Bright sunny chilly morning - brrrrr....in the 40s.

I must have slept well. I noticed I missed a call at 2 am! Who the hecks calls that late?

It was old high school friend. Forgot the nickname i gave her. This one isn't the catfish one. But she does have a weird boyfriend. And that was why she probably called. Probably having "relationship" issues. We are 60 years old - no time for that nonsense. I'm glad i didn't hear. She would have kept yapping for hours. Which would aggravate me since she can't stand to do the same for others. I cannot be her therapist. Her whole family has issues. They all need counseling. I'll add her to my prayer list!

I put my phone on silent so i won't here any calls when i am awake.

Not sure what is on teh agenda for today. Usual sweeping and cleaning i guess.

The pack has already been out. They slept until almost 8. Good sleeping weather.

Good morning all,

I agree with Maggie. I do not think you are a horrible person Floridacatlover. We see the world and solutions differently. I agree with Maggie, shake off that attitude.

Today, I will secure the trellis that I have painted to the poles on the edges of the raised garden bed. Then I will tell the jasmine to get growing. This afternoon, I will move stuff around to make room for the cabinets that are due to be delivered on Monday. Hubs has been pestering me about it, but I told him I will move it when I decide to. And today is the day.

Hubs and I have a discussion on stuff every morning. It is nice to have someone to talk to about many things. Today we discussed the effort to drill into soil on Mars. It was unsuccessful and it was finally determined that the dust layer is so soft, the drill can't drill down into it. Amazing. It reminds me of when I was putting in the dock poles about 3 decades ago. It does no good to dig into the sand on the bottom. It just fills back in. I used a water hose as a drill and then quick put the pole in. The last dock was done by professionals. I am too old for such work and too many permits required these days.

Another thing we discussed this morning was sinkholes. Sinkhole(depressions) are really becoming a problem. So much of Florida is just not suited for houses and development, but the out of state developers just ignore that. They come with cash for the county commissions and fill in everything and then disappear. Later, the home buyers are on the hook as their homes sink out of sight. Then intense pumping of water out of the aquifer makes it worse sooner. It is sad.

Weekend sale at Winn-Dixie ends tomorrow and there are a couple of things worth buying. I need a lot more bleach to clean the patios. It is the only thing that works on the summer algae. Bleach is on sale. Also beef roast is on sale. I love saving money. Military son skype sometime in the afternoon.

Normal frugal things here. Saving water and reducing electrical use. Tomatoes are looking good and the turnips and radishes have sprouted. My recently planted perennial peanut ground cover is doing very well. The timing of rains has been perfect, so no watering required. The rosella hibiscus has set buds and pretty soon bug pink flowers all over the yard The morning glories have reverted to native with tiny flowers. So next year, a replant is required. I may opt for passion vines though.

Today, I am grateful for the rain that makes the plants grow and bloom. Have a good weekend all.

Dg it seems funny to hear all of your plants and veggies are starting to come in to their own and those of us up north are seeing everything closing down for the fall and winter. Enjoy your garden flowers they sound lovely and your veggies when they start to produce bigger.

floridacatlover wrote: Sat Oct 26, 2019 7:41 am I have a cold, probably caught from my Starbucks friend. When I visited mom’s neighbor’s mother I had had a scratchy throat the night before so did not hug her. Still kept the visit because I didn’t want to disappoint her. Now I’m praying so hard that she doesn’t get sick and feel so, so guilty. Stupid, stupid me. Maybe I really am the horrible person DGFlorida thinks I am.

Will text my friend that I won’t meet her for coffee. I will go to mom’s house to see if the flag pole painting is OK and then to the library with my dvds.

I printed a sock pattern from Ravelry and will check my yarn stash to see what I have to make them. It’s been a long time since I knit on double-pointed needles. Looking forward to it. I need to do something to get myself out of a funk.
Florida cat sorry you have a cold. Hope you will feel better soon. You are not stupid stop putting yourself down. I have had aides that have had colds and come to work and as long as we took precautions I never developed a cold. You did not hug here and most likely she will be ok.

Janet, sorry you didn't get much sleep. We have the same weather today, lots of rain.

Florida, sorry you're feeling poorly. I had to go look up double-pointed needles ... I've seen them, but had no idea what they were about.

Talked myself out of going to the used bookstore yesterday. Instead, I baked a batch of blackberry muffins (which got a package of berries out of the freezer).

Need to sort things out in the fridge so I can do some meal planning, and move some of those leftovers into work lunches for DH. We've had more food waste lately, mainly because things were pushed to the back of the fridge/freezer.

Hope Big Boy does continues to get well and that having to do his business outside does not cause him to have a relapse.
