Clem, sorry to hear about your family members. I have a couple friends who have had the virus and recovered. But, one of my friend's (elderly and medically fragile) mother caught it from her. She's in hospital and on a ventilator. It doesn't look good. And one of my friends' DIL has it. She's actually on her way over here. She posted that she was desperate for Lysol. I'm giving her one of my cans as that is one thing I am fully stocked up on. She'll pick it up from my porch.

Littlemiss, we hardly got a drop of the rain that is sitting on your head. It was all around us and it thundered a couple times but just a little misting of rain.

Today is a no spend/no drive day. I have my procedure tomorrow afternoon to get the trial stim implant. I hope and pray it works. DH has to drive me and he just said, hey, after your procedure, wanna go to Sonic? Woohoo, it's a date. I've always been a cheap date. :D

I did my walk this morning on the treadmill. I don't know how hot it is out there and I don't really want to find out. Hobbes is so cute. He's snoozing on the ottoman in the square of sunshine (from the skylight in our den). He keeps shifting to follow its path. We have three skylights in our house. Most of the time I love them, but not in July and August for sure.

I've got a small meatloaf that will be supper. I'll make some mashed potatoes and open some peas to go with. I still need to check our farmer's market. I am craving a good ripe tomato something fierce.
Good luck tomorrow!!!!!!

On a more serious note, my brother has been exposed to an active case of Covid at work, thanks to someone too selfish to follow precautions who should not have been in the building. He has cardiac disease and a bad liver, but all he can do is monitor his temp and pray for the next 10 days.
Good luck tomorrow!!
Oh no, I will pray your brother was not infected.

Mrscreative wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2020 9:17 pm Good morning beautiful people,

I will be thinking of you all who have direct connections to the virus. It’s certainly not going to go away any time soon! But somehow until it affects you directly it doesn’t seem quite real. I hope and pray for a safe vaccine soon.

Beautiful warm, summery day, in fact became downright hot! I may have overdone my walking today, as it was a total of over six miles. Walked to and back home from treatment and later decided to walk to the pharmacy to pick up Dh’s prescription. I also had a Walmart pickup, so was busy storing away all the food. After a late lunch I just felt beat so sat in the shade on our deck reading a book on my iPad. I even had a cup of coffee just to revive myself and felt much better. Then got dinner prepared without much effort. Dd2 had plans and needed a quick meal so had cereal I believe. Now just relaxing before going to bed. Although not an exciting day, I still have a real sense of contentment. I am very grateful we live where we do in this time of the pandemic. Fortunately still no new cases and all 90 have been resolved except 1, a woman in her 60’s still hospitalized.

Last night had trouble falling to sleep with a far away neighbours fireworks going off. We like to sleep with the windows wide open. But too tired to crawl out of bed to look out the window to enjoy them! All Canada Day celebrations in our city are cancelled for tomorrow. I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re serenaded by the same tonight.

Creative
Creative, I think you are doing too much. Radiation treatments are cumulative, you will become more tired as they continue. Certainly take your walks when you feel like it, but maybe not so far?

Florida, if I had the power I would send you some of my rain. Rained most of the night and this morning we had a "gully washer". That is slang," for a lot of rain in the deep South". LOL

Littlemiss, a couple of months ago we had a huge cloudburst in our neighborhood and I posted on FB that we were having a gully washer. Most of my friends had never heard of that term so I had to explain it to them. I am not in the deep south but we had a huge amount of rain that lasted about 10-15 minutes.

I have been trying to stay productive. Yesterday we had those type of winds that just knocks everything out of me. They cool things down here a lot but I have grown to hate them because they make me feel sick, to the point where I spend a good deal of the day in bed sleeping. Even allergy pills don't help much anymore. I did go to bed earlier than usual and I have felt fine today.

Tomorrow is bill paying and payday for me. I am always glad to get that out of the way and hopefully I won't make any errors this month.

I am still finishing up crafts and odds and ends. I have been watching Bosch on Amazon Prime. It's such a great series. I am ready to start season 3.

The virus has spiked here in our golden state. We are waiting to see what Governor Newsome has in store. He has been begging us all month to wear masks when we go out and practice physical distancing. The spikes are being traced to large gatherings. I would imagine all the protests and parties have had a lot to do with it. I am so glad to be retired and not have to go out in that mess.

Stay safe everyone.

Bev

Bev, I am so proud of you for knowing what it meant. Usually, you have had to live in the south or have relatives that live here to know what it means. You hit the nail on the head with your explanation. I don't know where all this stuff comes from that we use sometimes, but we understand it.

I had a small package that I needed to mail so I got in my car and drove down to the mailbox. While in the car you could not believe it, sounded like I was in a car wash. The lighy bulb goes on in my head. My car hasn't been to the car wash in a couple of months, wonder if I can do something frugal and save myself a trip and the cost of a wash. I drove very slowly back up my driveway and then sat in my car outside of the garage for about 15 minutes. I drove back into the garage, got me a chamois and wiped the car down. It's as clean as new. Last week I had gotten my shop vac out and cleaned out the inside. With no more than I'm driving now and keeping it in the garage it doesn't need much cleaning. I felt really frugal, free water got me a free car wash.

I have a 1:00 Dr. appointment so I am hoping that it has stopped by then, I hate to drive in the mess. My labs this week at dialysis found blood in my stool, so before I can get a referral to a GI specialist I have to go so my primary doctor. Kidney Dr. thinks it could be the heparin that is causing it and they stopped that as soon as the test came back. We shall see, if it's not one thing it's another.

I hope that everyone has a fantastic day and Mackie I sure hope you are going to love that new job.
Heck a gully washer is a term used here on the Canadian prairies as well. I always thought it was something that just us prairie folk used.
