Re: Daily Check In -March 28, 2921
Good morning once again,
It looks like it’s going to be a beautiful, bright sunny day but we woke up to yet more snow! Hopefully this will be among our last shoveling sessions until next fall. The snow is becoming old now and everyone is anxious for spring.
My new bread maker arrived yesterday afternoon. Dd2 had made some croissants and there’s still a little raisin bread left so I am going to defer it’s “Christening “, as anxious as I am to try it out. No sense having too many goodies on hand at once. I did the initial breaking in of the machine as indicated on the instructions- put it on bake for 10 minutes. The machine started to smoke, as it said it would. I actually did this twice as it emitted a strong, plastic like smell. I have thoroughly cleaned the bread pan and paddle and everything is ready to go. I can hardly wait! The machine is very compact, which I like but still bakes up to 2 pound loaves. I think it will be perfect for our needs. A lot of recipes in the book call for vital wheat gluten, which I don’t have on hand and cannot order from Walmart pickup. Have any of you used this? I thought I would try out Jackie’s whole wheat bread recipe first in it. I had DD2’s croissant for breakfast this morning - my what an indulgent treat! It was so good!
As usual I will go for another long walk at some time today. Yesterday I learned our next door neighbour has recently been diagnosed with two different autoimmune diseases and had three consecutive strokes! No wonder I hadn’t seen much of them. Fortunately he is doing much better after finally receiving an accurate diagnosis, radical dietary change and appropriate medication. They were also out for a walk and this is when I ran into them.
The rest of my day is open. Floridacatlover I was watching the figure skating competition from Stockholm as well. So happy Nathan Chan was able to pull through. And I was happy with Keegan Messing’s performance as well. He seemed so excited about becoming a parent very soon, when interviewed.
Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning fellow frugalites,
Watching the rising sun painting the sky wonderful colours right now. Just miss having that cup of coffee in my hand while doing so. Took the bone building med and now have to wait....I really need coffee in the morning.
Getting much closer to when Hubby and I get our jabs. I am really looking forward even to being partially protected. Just keep em coming is all I say.
Not much going on here. I think I just may add two rows of full squares to the quilt top as a border type idea. Then I will put it away until later in April when I will sandwich it and bind it. If there is time today I will change the thread colour and put in a new needle so I can sew one of the two tops I have cut out. Hopefully both tops will be sewn by the end of the month.
So youngest DS was in line to be tested for about 2 hours yesterday. He should get the results in a day or two if he is positive. If not it could be awhile longer. Still hoping it is just a bad cold.
Oldest DS seems to be enjoying some good weather and his tulips are coming up. I will need to check mine out shortly. Perhaps there is another sign of spring being right around the corner.
Frugally speaking, no cash will be spent today. I will be using up what I can from pantry and fridge, after all Easter is coming and one needs to make room. Once the sewing is done for the day, I plan on working on using up the yarn I pulled from storage at the beginning of the month. Still lots to do on the wrap/cocoon type idea I have in my head.
Walking for good frugal exercise again today. I am still at 12 blocks and see no need to increase until the middle of next week. Then I will work up to 14 blocks. Hopefully I will be back to walking at least 20 blocks by the end of next month. And back to losing a bit more of the weight I put back on.
Supper tonight is going to be a package of the leftover roast beef from last Sunday. I will warm it up and serve it with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and tossed salad.
Today I am grateful that I can now have some coffee or will be able to by the time I get my mug and the coffee runs through the machine.
Everybody have a great day. Take care.

Re: Daily Check In -March 28, 2921
I slept pretty well last night.
I fixed oatmeal for breakfast, I had blueberries to put in it. Still not Mootopia Vanilla milk but I ordered a quart of whole milk this is better.
I finished making the 7 tiny tote bags. I have fabric to make lots more. all it is costing me is time and thread.

Good morning friends.
I had kind of a rough night and finally put Pippi outside the bedroom at I don’t know what time, maybe 3-4 a.m. I kept dreaming and waking up but finally slept until 9:30 a.m.
Creative, yes Nathan Chen did great and the other American I really like, Jason Brown, finished just behind Keegan Messing. I believe that Keegan’s strong finish means that Canada will send two men to the Olympics next year in Beijing. I know that Keegan is very close friends with another Canadian skater, Nam Nguyen.
Today I’ll go somewhere, either Publix or mom’s house or both. I know that if I stay home two days in a row I get into a very low mood. At home, however, I’ll continue to clean out my lower kitchen cabinets. I’ve already found SO many things I don’t use and can donate. The one shelf I’ve finished looks very uncluttered.
Later I’ll start the 1000-piece Washington D.C. puzzle I got from the library.
Have a good day.

Good Moring friends,
Had a nice visit with DS1 & Family. I helped them in the yard to get it ready, pickup up sticks before they mowed. DDIL let DGS7 use the push mower under watchful eyes. He did a pretty good job. I told DGS4!? Happy Birthday and he said it back, so we worked on explaining it was his birthday. We also worked on having a ball glove on one had and throwing a ball with the other had, until the dogs though we were throwing the tennis ball for them.
Now it is my decision time. Rain stopped, but it is only going to be about 50 degrees. Do I go to DGS's BD party? I'll be sure to wear my mask inside. I may be the only one, but I did not get this far staying healthy and contract the darn virus 10 days before my second shot.
Have a great day,
Maggie
