I am such a moron. Someone in the department came by to give me a baby announcement, which was so cleverly done I thought they were adopting a dog. It featured a photo of a dog on the front and the dog is a boy, as was the word revealed by the little scratch-off pad on the card.
Excuse me while I whack myself on the forehead. I didn't say anything I'll live to regret but I bet she wondered why I wasn't more enthusiastic. Honestly, I'm so old that back in my day, one just announced "we're having a baby and it's due in X month." Of course, that's back when the earth was still cooling and dinosaurs roamed the land . . .
Mackie you are so funny. I am with you why does everything have to be a production. Simpler times back in the olden days.

Sorry for the misspell....HYSTERICAL!!!!!!
I also agree that these announcements and gender reveals are SO over the top. It was nice when someone would tell you they were expecting and you just said congratulations in person.
Jackie...SO happy to hear your son is negative...a huge relief.
Janet..so glad Teddi is feeling better.
Spring cleaning and sorting here. Lots to send to the thrift shop.
If it had not been for that darned scratch pad and my lack of fingernails that made it so hard to scour it off, I might have paid better attention and figured it out. I did wonder why adopting a dog now includes a formal announcement four months in advance and scannable Q codes from Target and Walmart.
My entire approach to life in recent years is to keep things simple. This was not simple.
I may have to start doing the outside walks earlier. I started at ten thirty and while it wasn't so bad I had to change clothes it was just enough that when I came back my ankles had that old sweat into the ankle socks and now my legs and ankkes itch thing so I had to use wipes on them and them be barefoot for awhile.
Got my car cleaned and wiped and vacuumed and waxed inside and out by others. The thirty bucks was well spent. I've now had my inspection so I'll be finally putting TX plates on my car this week. But my errands took so long that I didn't get my chuck roast for Italian beef sandwiches in the slow cooker until 2. I may be having eggs for dinner and shredding the stuff tomorrow since it's probably gonna cook till 8.
This afternoon I'm gonna knit and plan my sewing and look at patio stuff and shower before the game. I'm rooting for Gonzaga, but will be satisfied with whomever wins.

Mackie...it was a birth announcement...for an upcoming baby. It wasn't a shower invitation...right?
So WHY was there a Q code for Target and Walmart? AND....REALLY...a scratch off?????
Is the baby being adopted?
