I bought an electric kettle a few months back - never had one before and I love it. It is getting mineral deposits or whatever they are on the inside and it's terrible looking.
The instructions that came with the kettle went "POOF" but I do recall them saying not to put any other liquid in it except water.
But...did that maybe mean whilst it is plugged in and turned on? Do you think I could give it a soaking with white vinegar and rinse it well?
Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

Re: How Do I Clean Electric Kettle?
My stainless steel electric kettle was rescued from going to the trash after I found it in an abandoned suite of offices. It had some hard water build up inside. I put some white vinegar inside, brought it just up to boiling, turned it off and let it sit a while. Poured it down a drain that needed cleaning, and then rinsed the pot and let it boil a pot of clean water. It was much improved.

Thank you Mackie. I did something similar. I put in a cup of white vinegar and 3 cups of water, let it sit overnight and rinsed. The buildup was gone.
