My no-sew hemmed curtains

Post by delighted99 »

For those of you who do not sew but need to hem curtains, I wanted to share my frugal tip. (It's more frugal than paying for alterations or getting curtains custom-made!)

I bought a no-sew hem tape. You cut your curtains to the length you require (I found this to be the most challenging part- I wasn't sure if I was cutting in a straight line) and then decide on the size of the hem. (I chose an 1" for mine.) Then you iron the hem in place, add the tape, and then iron over the tape with medium-high heat.

There's a great video of how to do it:

I was proud of myself. :)

I once made a bathroom window curtain out of a skirt I opened up........ already had a hem too.........happened to be just the right length.
