Good morning everyone,

We are slowly but surely entering into fall. Tree leaves are starting to turn some but I am not seeing the spectacular colors we have had in the past. Add to that the air quality is not good due to two major wildfires that have erupted in our state. One small town has been wiped out. We cud sure use some rain but the long term forecast is or it to remain bone dry until Thanksgiving.

Working today and hoping to get my 10K steps in. My weight is fluctuating like crazy; changes five pounds from one day to the next. Took a diuretic today so we'll see what happens. I am so tired of the weight struggle.

I got paid for work today so that is a good thing! I have had one expense (the new computer) and my next big expense will be next month (the 2008 Toyota) I hope it will be ok until Christmas break, it's the only time I can schedule this work done. My next paycheck will be less since I was sick all week last week. The with holidays and breaks coming up the next few will be small also. I am hoping to be able to ramp up my work again in January.

Almost time to le for work. I love the short shifts; it allows me time to get things done both before and after. I also love no more daylight saving time. It's nice to wake up to daylight.

Update

I got my appointment with the specialist and it is mid January. Not the nicest time to be on the highways but at least I get to spend Christmas at home. Hoping that things can be handled quickly and cleaning when I do go.

Bought those pots and pans. The old ones will be donated or I will see if youngest DS wants some of them. He could probably use some newer things (these are old but still in really good shape). Now just to wash up and dry the new ones before I put them away.

Talk to you all later.

Jackie I hope that having a date sets your mind at rest just a little. (((hugs)) and some prayers for calm and reassurance.

Hola everyone

It is chilly and overcast. We had some intense rain last night. Well I didn't hear it until I went to the kitchen. Guess my room is pretty well insulated. Didn't last long. And we didn't really need it.

Today was food bank day. I went and saw very few cars, but the volunteers were indoors. We set up inside. Went great. Cuz when the big truck got there, it poured down. You never know what will show up in the shipment. At least no onions this time.

I'm tired, but feel great. Love helping out.

Going to relax and read and cozy up with the pups.

Have a great afternoon.

Today is my weekday off work, which I greatly treasure. I slept in a little, got up and tended to the dogs and the elder cat, then sat down to read for awhile with a big mug of coffee.

Still worn out and coughing a lot, so there have been small chores accomplished with rest in between. My laundry and the towels are in the washer and stacked on top ready to go.

Still need to wipe down the inside of the fridge and make a grocery list. Won't go shopping until tomorrow, even though the fridge has only pepperoni, some eggs, cheese, butter, a little milk, and condiments in it. We spent only $50 on groceries last week, so we got the good out of it!

Supposed to be quite cold and windy tomorrow, so I may make chili with a side of mac and cheese. Hope you all stay warm out there!

Kitty, we didn't get snow overnight ... but I now see some flakes flying by the window.
Storm door is up and looks nice. The company is going to send some touch-up paint for the little scratch. Think I will need to fix weatherstripping in a couple of places, but overall, I hope it will keep things warmer inside.
(The cats are a bit puzzled by this addition. Big Boy kept looking up at the latch, then walked behind the open front door and looked at things from that angle.)
Jackie, I'm glad you finally got an appointment. Good thoughts still going out to you.
