My surgery went well, my hand hurts very little. I was told to take Tylenol for pain.

It actually hurts less today than it hurts before my surgery.

My daughter brought me home this morning.

It is quite chilly here but sunny and clear.

Janet, I worry about you being snowed in. I wonder if the company that provides your aide has some sort of inexpensive service for driveway clearing.

Jackie, I hope that your tests go well. I’d say have a glass of wine when you are done but I imagine you and DH will want to get on the road to drive home.

Gayle, I hope that your children get well soon. (I meant to comment the other day that you should give yourself a big pat on the back for being so valuable to your school system that they call you all the time. Sounds to me like you are a born teacher.)

Today I plan to mostly stay home but will do a few errands. I want a few sale items from Publix and today is the last day. Also I may run into CVS. Probably five miles tops. I’m still watching my mileage.

Yesterday I did about an hour of work in mom’s yard after the lawn mower guy picked up the mower. I hope that he can get it working right.

Not much else.

Have a good day.
Florida Cat. I am ok. I love snow and always looking forward to it.
I am sure that the agency has no one to send in for snow assistance. They have hundreds of clients and it would be too costly to try to get staff in or out. I do not mind being snowed in except for the loss of wages for my aide. Once I get my blood pressure pills I will be ok for months with food and medication. I am glad my parents taught us to stockpile things. I have lived in a rural setting from childhood in to my middle 20's and aware of the need to always have extras on hand..Since I have lived alone as a working adult I always stockpiled food and medications for colds and flu etc. because there was no one to run out and get something. If I did not have it I had to do without.

I am doing well so do not have any concerns for me. Even Teddi is over his initial surprise of the snow and no hesitation to go out in to it. When he goes out he is curious and nosing around the yard. I do keep a watch on him due to coyotes but they have not ventured in close yet. Janet Alliesmama

I am up and busy, cleaning up the messes that I can get to. Chickens are out, fresh water and feed. I need to make a trip to the farm store, will be needing feed and the weather report is saying get it now. Next week is looking sucky weather wise. I am already over winter.

Janet, can you call your county garage and let them know you have medical issues and get the drive cleaned? Or your trustee or council on aging? Don't take a chance on walking, it's too dangerous.

LittleMiss, the cleaning of your carotid arteries is inconvenient, but the difference it will make is amazing...
worker here, talk later

I am pretty sure we do not have any kind of special snow removal here. After I get my blood pressure pills tomorrow I will happy and content to stay in my house until the spring thaw..lol. I wanted to check out the road situation for my aide yesterday and realized the road is ok my driveway is the problem. If we did not have several snow fronts moving in soon I might have considered someone plowing out my driveway but as it is now it would be just throwing money away. My husband had it plowed once for $65.00 and that is just too much to pay over and over again.. Thanks for you concern. Janet Alliesmama

32º here this morning, cloudy and rain is coming back in for the week-end. I guess I can thank the Lord that it isn't snowing. I like snow for a day or two, but nobody here can drive in it and it curtails most anything you want to do. So I will stop complaining about the rain.

Got Jackie and Penny in my prayers this morning and Janet you don't be walking to that mailbox and taking a chance on falling. I am terrified of falling and my junk mail could stay in that box for a week without me caring. My postman would probably be knocking on my door if I didn't pick it up, but he's a lot younger than I am.

My doctors appointment didn't go well, I've got blockage in my carotid arteries and he's sending me to a heart specialist to make sure my heart is in good shape and if so I will have surgery to clean them out. He says it's not worth waiting until you have a stroke and then it's to late. They did an echocardiogram on my neck and they are over 50% blocked. I have been feeling short of breath and this is the reason. Oh the trials of getting old. However, if we want to keep on kicking we have to have things corrected.

I have had breakfast, couple of eggs, toast and orange juice. I didn't sleep well, so I'm going back to bed as I did most all of my work last night.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.
Libby sorry to hear about your blockage. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. My husband had over 50% blockage and the cardiologist said that he would be fine with it. That it was not something we had to do anything for at that time. Hope you get the same positive response. However good that your Dr is aware and making a referral. Janet Alliesmama

Good midday to all,

Yesterday was hubs 2nd cataract operation. It was an all day affair thanks to the transport company and outpatient center. Left at 8 am, got home around 3 pm. Immediately, got hubs some food and water since he had not had any all day.

Waiting room was very cold, recovery room was cold. After awhile, that cold seeps into the bones it seems and that always worries me as an invitation for the sniffles. I had hoped for a good night's sleep in a warm bed, but the cat decided that I needed to get up every 2 hours all night by howling. First, it was more food, then more water, then more food, then out at 7 am. This afternoon, I have to drive hubs to his post op and give him medication every 4 hours. No rest period. An invitation to get sick. Most everyone knows that feeling when you beyond tired into a state of drowsy awake, can't sleep. I am there.

Frugal wise, the energy bill shows a slight drop in electric usage for December. I avoided the electric heat all that month. This month will have a furnace component. Still, the furnace seems to easily keep the house warm and there are still a few things I could do. I had hoped to do them today, but I don't care at this point. Just tired. I sure hope the cat lets me sleep tonight.

Hubs did the year end report and said we lost some value in the money kept in our brokerage account. Doesn't seem right. But he is a Debbie downer and drama queen whenever possible. So I will have to look for myself when I am less fuzzy. And the market is up a bit from that point. So I will have to look.

Today, I am grateful that the operation is over and his vision seems good. But I am not grateful for the cat today. Everyone have a good day. I hope for a better tomorrow.
