Sorry you had trouble sleeping last night Janet. Just take it easy and only do what you feel up to.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Another rainy day in Tennessee and I don't go to church when it rains so I missed today. I enjoy going so much, but with the weather conditions I am missing more than I like. Had a nice omelet and toast for breakfast and will be going shortly to pick up my grocery order from WalMart. I saw a really cute set of Pioneer Woman dishes on their site and I am going to look to see if they have them in the store while I am there. I will have them shipped if I like them for I couldn't unload them when I got home by myself.

I am in a cooking mood so after I pick up the groceries I am going to bake a pan of brownie's for next weeks dessert and cook some veggies. My brownies will be from scratch and frosted with my favorite chocolate frosting recipe. I ordered vanilla ice cream so I know what my dessert will be for the coming week.

I hardly know how to act not having a doctor's appointment this month. I have so much extra time on my hands, but it's really been nice. If the rain would stop I could get some things done outside that needed done badly. I just can't seem to find a day to finish up trimming my shrubs between rain storms.

Had a nice visit with my SIL and grandson yesterday. The cookies were a hit and we laughed a lot. He is going to have his handyman, that mows his yard come and give me an estimate. The one I had lined up isn't coming to take care of it as I need for him to and my SIL thinks it's time I make a change. He's had to cut the bank that I can't do with the push mower several times already this year for me so I don't blame him. He dislikes yard work so much that he has his own mowed, he works the night shift and has to sleep during the day. He's had to help me on his days off and that isn't good either. I can mow the rest of the yard, but DD doesn't want me to do it and I have to try and keep them halfway happy.

Rinty's post made me think about pulling the plug on my cable almost a year ago and how little I have missed it. When DH was alive our bill was in the neighborhood of $150.00 a month, after he died I went to a basic package with dish for around $40.00 a month and in the summer months put it on the $5.00 hold thing. I discovered ROKU and canceled it. I saved enough money from putting it on the hold for the summer to pay for all the roku devices needed for my 4 TV's in the house. Once that was done, I got the nerve to get rid of cable all together. Netflix ( paid for me by son as a gift) Hulu,Starz, and all the free channels on ROKU give me all the TV that I can watch. I picked up a year of Hulu on Black Friday for $1.00 a month, and I have STARZ at $5.00 for 3 months, so I now pay $6.00 for my entertainment. There were a couple of shows that I wanted to see on there. Mr. B has STARZ and I got hooked on a couple while visiting and wanted to finish them when I got home.

His cable bill is $200.00 a month, he has everything. I just bought me a wireless DVD player for my bedroom and I can now watch any movie that I want in bed. I had a DVD player in the Den that I could watch but I just like laying in bed watching movies, more than by myself in the den.

Well I am off to see what I can get accomplished today and hope all you have a great evening as well.

Thanks Creative but I have severe insomnia and have had it for years and they cannot decide what the problem is. I went for two sleep studies and I have 38% sleep efficiency. It took me an hour and a half to get to sleep in both studies and then when I do sleep I am in rim sleep for only a short period of time. Due to my severe sleep apnea my pulmonary Dr forbids any kind of sleep aides..I will stop breathing for up to 70 seconds at a time around 53 times in the few hours I do sleep. They think that is partially due to my Lou Gehrigs disease. They want to send me to an insomnia specialist in St. Louis, MO but I cannot afford the co-payment. My pulmonary Dr says my insomnia is unrelated to the apnea. The thing is I wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed and cannot stay in bed and I have to get up and do things. Oh well we all have to deal with something.

At one time when I was depressed after having my total knee replacements and finding out that I had ALS the Dr. put me on Zoloft but it did nothing for my depression. Then she put me on something that helped but forget now what but my neurologist took me off it because it can cause tremors and he said we would not be able to tell if the tremors were from the medication or from the ALS. Then I was put on Prozac which helped a lot and gradually went off of. The pulmonary DR did try some kind of tranquiler for depression but it was too scary to stay on it. Cannot remember now what it was besides it did not seem to affect my sleeping and I am not depressed. Glad that you are getting some relief and sleeping better.
