Penny, you are so funny! :-D

I am enjoying a last lazy day. Job starts tomorrow. I may be the only person around here who slept well, as Homeless Buddy was ill all night with his digestive problem and DH joined the Guild of Professional Insomniacs and did not sleep a wink.He is having a very stressful week at work and it's keeping him awake.

Today I have to print out and go through a checklist for work training and do the usual chores. Also need to find my small lunch bag and make sure it's clean.

Hope you all have a safe and peaceful day.

Dgflorida wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2020 6:58 am Good morning all,

Another extra hot day in Central Florida. The night temperatures are staying around 80F. That causes the ac to run at night as well as during the day. Not pleasing at all. House temperature is set at 84F now for several days and hopefully that will keep the energy costs lower. The Mexican peppers are a bit spicy right now as well. Technically, they are supposed to be half as spicy hot as jalapeño, but right now they seem to have jalapeño level heat.

I am cooking with the leftover chicken fat and it will be used up within a day or two. Frugal, no waste. Tonight, I plan to cook up the last of Aldi's so called pollack fish. Switching fish is common according to Consumer Reports and other reports as well and that is what I think must of happened here. Cooking will be done on the outside porch to reduce heat load in the house.

Today, I will visit the nearby Bass Pro shop and look over their hunting and fishing supplies. Although I will be near the bulk food shop, I will not go there. Hubs is seeing some weight gain and he loves his walnuts. Nut meat make excellent hurricane emergency food, but it won't last that long if it is in the house.

I normally would visit my neighbor who took that fall and then had surgery. However, hospitals are centers of contagious diseases like Covid and I avoid people who might be exposed. I have been careful since early February and will continue to be careful.

Today, I am grateful for my good health. Have a happy and safe day everyone.
Around here, the hospitals are not allowing visitors. Children can have 1 parent. Fathers can be present at birth but if they leave the hospital, they may have trouble getting back in. If a Mom is discharged but the baby isn't, only one parent can visit.

My DIL stated that she will be comfortable when the hospitals open to visitors again.

Good Barely morning,

On one of the twice-daily update calls with our customer. To me it feels like they are cats playing with mice.

Last night I hauled myself out and took an hour and 10 minute walk. I then did not wake up during the night. Felt good. I also got text that my new couch was in and called for delivery. The soonest they can deliver is July 14. I was a bit disappointed. But hey, not much I can do about it.

I plan to get out again tonight. It is a bit humid, but in the mid 80's (F).

Have a great day,
Maggie

Hello friends.

Not much on the agenda today but I did decide to go to Publix. It was not crowded, sort of back to pre-virus days. Everyone had on a mask. This is a small store.

I’m going to head to mom’s house and put some of the groceries there. Part of it is storage but I also like to keep some things there for lunch. I don’t plan to do any yard work. Hope I remember to look for a small frame for my needlepoint rose. I donated a lot of frames but still have some nicer ones I saved at the house so will check sizes.

Stay cool and anyone with rain please send some here.

Good Morning Everyone,

Florida, if I had the power I would send you some of my rain. Rained most of the night and this morning we had a "gully washer". That is slang," for a lot of rain in the deep South". LOL
I had a small package that I needed to mail so I got in my car and drove down to the mailbox. While in the car you could not believe it, sounded like I was in a car wash. The lighy bulb goes on in my head. My car hasn't been to the car wash in a couple of months, wonder if I can do something frugal and save myself a trip and the cost of a wash. I drove very slowly back up my driveway and then sat in my car outside of the garage for about 15 minutes. I drove back into the garage, got me a chamois and wiped the car down. It's as clean as new. Last week I had gotten my shop vac out and cleaned out the inside. With no more than I'm driving now and keeping it in the garage it doesn't need much cleaning. I felt really frugal, free water got me a free car wash.

I have a 1:00 Dr. appointment so I am hoping that it has stopped by then, I hate to drive in the mess. My labs this week at dialysis found blood in my stool, so before I can get a referral to a GI specialist I have to go so my primary doctor. Kidney Dr. thinks it could be the heparin that is causing it and they stopped that as soon as the test came back. We shall see, if it's not one thing it's another.

I hope that everyone has a fantastic day and Mackie I sure hope you are going to love that new job.
